Description
Continental Hydraulics’s Proportional Control
Valve with on-board electronics (OBE) combines the precision of
electronics with the ruggedness of hydraulics to stretch the performance
of your machines. Designed for the way you work, Continental’s proportional
control valve ensures accuracy and repeatability, which increases
your system productivity.
Set-up is easy. The on-board electronics module
is easily installed with a 7-pin connector cable that reduces machine
wiring and simplifies setup. The dynamic performance, precision,
and reliability of your machines are optimized using Setup parameters
that are easily established through Windows Based Graphic User Interface.
All needed software is provided. Simply connect
your laptop or PDA to the valve through an RS232 cable. The values
are just a point and click away. The Setup Parameters include independent
settings for single and dual solenoid valves, for Null or spool
centering, Gain control, Acceleration and Deceleration, Dither control,
and selection of Input Command. A Diagnostic window shows graphical
and numerical; values of Solenoid Current, Input Signal and Sensor
Feedback Signal for ease in troubleshooting. You can download this
information into an Excel spreadsheet for simplified performance
tracking and comparisons. When setup values are set, they can be
stored and easily downloaded, to quickly set up additional machines.
The On-Board Electronic valves also incorporate
the new Patented Hall Effect spool position sensor for closed inner-loop
operation making the valve operate with minimal hysteresis and great
repeatability performance.
Spool Selection
Hall Effect spool position sensor for closed
inner loop operation Standard Mountings – NFPA and ISO Standard
Selecting the correct spool is critical for best control in any
application. An incorrectly sized spool can make the difference
between consistent, reliable operation and poor overall control.
Continental Hydraulic offers not only a wide variety of flow rates,
but also offers a variety of metering functions. These metering
functions are designed to match the load, actuator and circuit characteristics
for the best possible control.
It is important to choose the correct spool
for your application. Typically choose a spool that will pass the
flow you need at approximately a 200 – 300 psid full loop pressure
drop for best overall performance. Refer to the Flow Curve Charts
if needed. This pressure drop and / or back pressure provides the
needed system stiffness that is required for optimum control.
Features & Benefits
- On-Board Electronics Amplifiers help save
control panel space and the costs of mounting
- The new GUI (Windows based Graphic User
Interface) valve programming software allows complete set-up
of all performance parameters as well as diagnostics in real
time
- Proportional valves utilize the new patented
Hall Effect spool position sensor for high accuracy
- Proportional products allow control over
the load; higher speeds and accuracy can be obtained, increasing
your production and profits
- All components that make up the valve
including the OBE module can be purchased separately, no need
replace the complete valve package if only one component fails
- Provide both direction and flow control
in one component
- Eliminates need for multiple valves or
the number of components saving costs
- Infinitely-variable control allows you
flexibility over motion
- Provides acceleration and deceleration
controllability
- Smooth no-shock motion reduces down time,
increases production rates
